This VERY hard to find "BELOW THE BELT"  video was actually filmed years before Robert Aldrich's glossier "ALL THE MARBLES," but wasn't released until 1980... six years after most of the principal photography was completed. Critics actually liked this dark, low-budget look into the world of pro wrestling, seen through the life of Rosa Rubinsky, a polish waitress willing to do just about anything to get out of her dead-end life. Her desires lead her to pro wrestling, eventually becoming "The Mexican Spitfire." In a rare screen appearance, it's former women's champion Mildred Burke who trains our heroine (portraying herself). As with many who join the grappling ranks, Rosa hoped to climb the ladder of success in this lifestyle, and found only a way of life that can only be appreciated through living it.
